{"id":225142,"date":"2021-03-15T11:44:56","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T11:44:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dyxnet.com.cn\/hk\/news\/dyxnet-group-dragon-boat-team-paddles-to-glory-and-third-place-in-the-family-fish-dyxnet-charity-cup\/"},"modified":"2021-06-09T18:30:40","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T10:30:40","slug":"dyxnet-group-dragon-boat-team-paddles-to-glory-and-third-place-in-the-family-fish-dyxnet-charity-cup","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.dyxnet.com.cn\/hk\/news\/dyxnet-group-dragon-boat-team-paddles-to-glory-and-third-place-in-the-family-fish-dyxnet-charity-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"DYXnet Group dragon boat team paddles to glory and third place in the \u201cFamily + Fish DYXnet Charity Cup\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u201cI am proud of the way my colleagues sacrificed their spare time<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>to train so hard for this race \u2013 and I\u2019m thrilled by the result\u201d \u2013 DYXnet CEO<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HONG KONG \u2013 June 11, 2019<\/strong> \u2013Many hours of training in all weathers under the guidance of a professional coach paid off when the 20-strong DYXnet Group team took third-place honours in a charity race at Friday\u2019s (June 7) Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The event was the \u201cFamily + Fish DYXnet Charity Cup\u201d race, which the Group has sponsored five times since 2012 to raise funds for the purchase of around 4,700 pieces of nutritious fish to benefit low-income families and the elderly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Led by COO Jacky Wan and CTO Max Yeung, the intrepid crew was armed with hi-tech carbon-fibre paddles and decked out in specially-designed T-shirts featuring a powerful red dragon on the front and a dragon boat design on the back.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The team performed admirably against fierce competitors such as the MTR, Tsui Wah Restaurant and Herbalife, and were cheered on by enthusiastic colleagues and family members. More than half the team were dragon boat veterans who had paddled for the Group in 2017 and 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DYXnet Group CEO Wing-Dar Ker said: \u201cI am proud of the way my colleagues sacrificed their spare time to train so hard for this race \u2013 and I\u2019m thrilled by the result!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cDragon boat racing is a treasured Chinese tradition, and I am very pleased we have supported the \u2018Family + Fish DYXnet Charity Cup\u2019 event as title sponsor for the fifth time. Most importantly, it provides us with a wonderful opportunity to serve the community by providing underprivileged families and the elderly with high-quality nutrition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After the race, Wing-Dar Ker joined forces with the HKSAR Government\u2019s Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr Law Chi-kwong, GBS, JP, to present various prizes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A few days before the event, Group Director of Product and Solutions Enoch Chan and Group Director of Marketing &amp; Corporate Communications Floria Chan helped hand out fresh fish to low-income families and the elderly, a practical role Floria has now played for fifth consecutive years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wing-Dar Ker said: \u201cServing the community as a socially-responsible corporate citizen fits with our core values.
